What is

Spiritual Direction?

Seeking spiritual direction, for me, means to ask big questions, the fundamental questions, the universal ones in the context of a supportive community.

- Henri Nouwen

What is Spiritual Direction?

Often associated with the Jesuit Order of the Catholic Church, spiritual direction is a practice of contemplative listening, curious question asking, and supportive reflective offerings in the context of a trusting and confidential relationship.

A trained spiritual director accompanies a person on the journey of their life. Together, they build a space where the fundamental questions of life can be asked, and through questions and conversations the answers might be heard.

By way of these reflective and intentional conversations, clients can open up to new understandings and paths of growth.

Who is it for?

Spiritual direction is for everyone! If you are curious reach out for a free consultation!

We all experience the fundamental questions of life.

  • Who am I? Who am I called to be?

  • Where am I going? Am I going the right way?

  • What is the purpose of my life?

  • Who/where is God/Divine/Spirit?

Spiritual direction is an amazing container and witness to the unfolding of those answers.

My approach:

For an in-depth understanding of my philosophy of spiritual care look to my “Ethics & Philosophy” page. I approach my practice as my whole self ready to witness, accompany, and uplift your whole self.

I offer a free consultation and information session for us to get to know one another.

If we decided to journey together, the recommended agreement is for nine 60 minute sessions over nine months. The monthly meeting gives the client enough time to experience life and gather new questions. It also helps mark Spiritual Direction as different from Therapy.

The cost of Spiritual Direction is offered on a sliding scale. Suggested rate is $40-60 per session. I am also open to bartering and trading.
